Corsica Meia — L'Isola

I grew up in Corsica and lived there until 1992.

When I was sixteen, I left Corsica with my family in a rather hasty manner to move to Milan. It was a hurried and quiet departure that left the young girl I was at the time with a profound sense of disorientation, loss and uprooting.

I hadn’t been back there for thirteen years, and throughout that long period my only thought was of being able to ‘hold her in my arms’ again. A thought that, over the years, ended up becoming a real obsession in my young mind.

In 2022, thirty years after I left and with a little more insight, I took the sixteen-year-old girl who still lives inside me by the hand and, on a truly healing journey, I took her back to her island.
